Today I got consulted on an elderly lady with rash, fever, weight gain, dyspnea, fatigue, weakness, leukocytosis, and transaminitis.  Her hospital course has also been complicated by HIT.  She’s already been worked to the hilt at another academic tertiary care center that transferred her to us for a second opinion.

I think the ferritin over 80K is going to be the clue that solves it…if we solve it.  

This is what I get for bitching about easy consults.  

Oh, and the really cool thing was that since her rash had resolved, her son sent me a picture of it from his blackberry to my iPhone.
